Experience a Vintner Dinner
A themed five-course meal with wine pairings
When you think of the Amana Colonies, food might be one of the first things that pops into your mind. It might be those fantastic brats, or the delicious coffee cakes or even the full family-style meals that made our restaurants famous.
Those thoughts might be changing slightly if you have taken in a Vintner’s Dinner. One of our restaurants has teamed with a local winery to offer up a completely different dining experience in the Colonies. The Vintner’s Dinner is a series of special themed meals that feature items not generally found on the restaurant’s menu along with a wine paired with each course.
Themes range from “Old Man River” featuring traditional items found along the Mississippi River from Minneapolis to New Orleans or “Cruising the Mediterranean” with each course coming from a different port of call in the Mediterranean. Whatever the theme might be the Vintner explains his selection and also the wine that is paired with it.
It makes for a fun evening but how could it miss? Great food, wine and new friendship formed over the fun. The dinners take place about 5 to 6 times a year and reservations/tickets are required. Check the schedule of events to see the Vintner’s Dinner schedule or contact the Ox Yoke Inn or White Cross Cellars. It certainly isn’t the same experience you think of when you think of Amana dining.
