Kinderfest is a July Saturday dedicated to the children. It’s a day filled with games, crafts, and discovery.
Meet a Fireman
Every child thinks about being a fireman and on Saturday a real fire truck and fireman is on hand to talk to the kids and let them climb aboard the truck.
Looking for a Pet?
Maybe your family is looking for a pet. A local dog obedience club brings a variety of dog breeds for the kids to pet and learn more about. Not every dog is the right fit for every family. It’s a great time to meet the breeds and get advice from an expert, plus kids just love dogs.
Have you ever Cracked a Geode?
Geode cracking is always fun and you never know what’s inside until you open it up. Maybe they would like to try their hand at panning for gold or fossils. Yup, we have that also!
Do the Guessing Game or go on a Scavenger Hunt
Many of our shops will have a special guessing game set-up for the kids, the one with the closest guess wins the prize and they can also go on a hunt to find the answer to clues. Once they’ve found the answers they can enter a drawing for a $100 gift certificate.
Learn some Historic Crafts
At our Amana Heritage Museum Sites, the kids will learn some old Colony crafts and even get to taste some traditional Colony foods.
Play Special Games
Four of our businesses have set-up special games to play including a Bounce House at the Amana Woolen Mill Showroom that will help use up some of that kid energy that us adults wish we still had.
The activities change, each year, but it’s always something fun for the kids and makes for a great time for the family.
Parents, we have some things for you also, including wine and beer sampling.
Stop by the Amana Colonies Visitor Center and pick up a brochure with a complete list of activities and special events.
