Rug Weaving
July 26 @ 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
$110
The art of weaving is one of the oldest art forms and has served many functional roles in human history. This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of loom weaving utilizing the elements of art and design to plan out visually appealing, one-of-a-kind tapestries.
The objective of this course is to gain a better understanding of loom weaving basics and techniques. Participants will spend time collecting inspiration for their woven designs prior to beginning their tapestries. Amana’s very own Woolen Mill generously donates the salvage edge from blankets, allowing for 10 different options to choose from. The instructor will do a brief weaving demonstration on a loom and oversee each participant as they weave on their own loom for the remainder of the class.
