The Native Americans that lived in this area before we arrived knew the Iowa River was rich with fish.  It still is and provides a great place to fish.  There is access to the river in locations just north of both Homestead and South Amana.  You’ll need a valid Iowa fishing license (buy online), but locals will tell you that there are plenty of catfish and some walleye in the local waterways.  Bring your pole and drop a line.
