....discover wildlife, plants and people of the Amana Colonies
622 46th Ave
Amana, IA 52203
Walking Stick Adventures offers outdoor exploration and discovery in the Amana Colonies unique forests, streams, ponds and prairies. Our guided, hands-on nature programs for adults and families give visitors a chance to see what lies beyond the roadway. The Amana Colonies encompasses over 26,000 acres of relatively undisturbed and unique Iowa habitats. For the first time, visitors now have the chance to "creep" down the creeks or stroll beyond the timber trail. You decide when, where and what you would like to see. Our goal is to give you the best outdoor experience with your interests and abilities in mind. Each 2 hour program includes transportation, equipment, materials and an experienced guide. We can meet you at the Amana Colonies Visitor Center at anytime. Please contact us in advance. Fees are $45 per family. You can reach us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone (319-329-9821; 319-668-1355). Dressing for the weather and for "getting dirty" is suggested. Programs will be canceled during severe weather situations but we will go play in the rain/snow when possible! For more information about these programs, private camping, and other recreation opportunities, check out our variety of "experiences" at www.walkingstickadventures.com or call us for more information.
