Conveniently located less than two blocks to downtown Main Amana with shops, restaurants and galleries, the Prairie Rose Bed and Breakfast is an amazing old Amana home which has been beautifully remodeled, leaving in place massive wooden beams, nooks and crannies – while featuring a modern kitchen, cozy communal area and spacious bathrooms.

The Prairie Rose was originally the village wash “haus” during Amana’s communal era.  You can see the huge hand-hewn beams with cut-outs for stringers where clothing and bedding were hung to dry.  Backing up to Amana range lands, our trees are home to birds of many colored feathers which will wake you each morning with their sweet songs.  And you will fall asleep to the rhythm of the cicadas and frogs.  It’s a short walk through the village just at dusk, where you can watch the street lights come on, just like twinkling gas lamps of old.

Each of our lovely rooms features high-quality linens, lovely quilts, fluffy towels, a personal refrigerator, personal robes, and cable television.

The Prairie Rose Bower features a queen bed in cheerful colors of red, pink and white, an en-suite large garden bath with a walk-in shower and two sinks.  $100/Night + Tax/$12.

The crisp Blue Delft Room features a queen bed with a private large bath, just down the hall about 10 steps.  It has a tub and shower.  $75/Night + Tax/$9.

BREAKFAST: A full country breakfast will be served in our cheerful sunny dining room.  Breakfast will include a fruit cup, fruit juice, entrée (usually crisp fruit-filled waffles, puffy cinnamon-laced French toast or green onion/cheddar scrambled eggs) with Amana pepper bacon or sausage.  We try to use Amana meats and breads when possible.  Our marvelous French coffee maker grinds organic Café del Sol coffee beans (or similar quality) and we keep a varied selection of teas and hot chocolate.

GET AWAY PACKAGES Available - Call for information.  They can be custom designed just for you!  For example, we can add champagne upon arrival, baked treats, truffles, vouchers for dinner in Amana, tickets to the theatre, wine vouchers, ice cream vouchers.  Let us know what you want, and we' ll make your event EXTRA special - we'll help you create memories to last a life-time!
2 Day Minimum on the following Holidays:  June 29, & 30 - July 6 & 7 (4th of July weekends), August 31 & September 1 (Labor Day Weekend), September 28 & 29 (Octoberfest)  - October 5 & 6.
 

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY:  Payment by check in advance, Credit cards taken through Pay Pal, or Cash at the door.  For advance reservations, full refunds given if reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of arrival. 

PET POLICY:  We love animals, so we have a policy which should be fair to all.
$25 charge for 1 pet only.  Owners must agree to keep pet in kennel/cage during the night.  Manager will replace nice quilt/bedspread with good quality used coverlet.
