Every Friday June through August. The Amana colonies were America's most successful communal society until it was forced to dissolve by social and economic forces in 1932. Take a guided walking tour of old Amana and hear stories of Amana's rich and unique history as you get a detailed view of one hundred and fifty year old Georgian style sandstone and brick houses that were built using only locally available timber, clay and stone.   Our guide will answer all of your questions about the colonies and their history and the achievements of the remarkable pioneers who built the houses, cleared the land and created a thriving and prosperous community where each person gave what he had and received what he needed.  $3.00 per person or free with museum admission. If you wish to see the introductory video and museum before the tour (recommended) please be at the museum by 4:00 p.m. The tour commences at 5:00 p.m.

Wines tours offered on June 8th, July 6th and August 3rd. Take a walking tour of the village of Amana with our guide and learn about the wine making history of the colony. These hard working pioneers enjoyed wines made from locally grown grapes and other local plant materials such as dandelion and elderberries. Sample today's wide  variety of wines made from grapes and plant materals from around the world. Amana's wine makers are frequent medal-winners in state and national competitions, so don't miss out! $5.00 per person.
