The Amana Colonies Visitors Center is located in the village of Amana, in a restored corn crib. The Visitors Center is your first stop for information about the Amana Colonies; providing Visitors Guides, maps and brochures for area businesses. Menus for all Amana Colonies restaurants are also provided.
Lodging
The Visitors Center provides a lodging wall to assist you in making your overnight accommodations, information for local bed & breakfasts, motels and condos is provided, as well as a direct line phone. Visitors Center staff is happy to assist you.
Rentals
The Visitors Center rents bikes, wheelchairs and strollers for your convenience. Contact the Visitors Center for availability and pricing.
Tours
Village Voyage - The Amana Colonies Visitors Center provides daily driving tours at 10 am Monday through Friday, seasonally. Cost is $18 per person, children under 10, $13. Reservation required.
A Village Stroll - The Amana Colonies Visitors Center provides daily walking tours at 11am Monday through Friday, seasonally. Cost is $7 per person, children under 12, $5, under 5, free.
Guten Appetit - A three to four hour walking tour offered twice a month by Visitors Center staff and takes you on a sampling tour of the many restaurants, specialty food shops, wineries and brewery located in the Colonies. Cost is $25 per person, reservations required.
Driving Directions
From Interstate 80, take Exit 225, turning north on Hwy 151. Travel along Hwy 151 for five miles until you reach the intersection of Hwy 151 and Hwy 6. Turn left on Hwy 6 to go to South Amana, West Amana and High Amana. Turn right to go to Homestead, Amana or Middle Amana. The Amana Colonies Trail, Hwy 220, is a 17-mile loop that connects all seven villages.

For the first time, visitors now have the chance to "creep" down the creeks or stroll beyond the timber trail. You decide when, where and what you would like to see. Our goal is to give you the best outdoor experience with your interests and abilities in mind. Each 2 hour program includes transportation, equipment, materials and an experienced guide. We will meet you at the Amana Colonies Visitor Center on the morning of your choice. Please contact us in advance to schedule a date and time. The activity depends on you! We can bring bug nets, pond nets, binoculars, or other equipment. You tell us what you would like to do outdoors!
Dress for the weather and for going off trail. Wear good walking shoes.

Village Voyage: Van Tour of the Amana Colonies

A three hour guided driving tour through the Amana Colonies showcasing historic attributes of the villages while also discussing how life is today. Tour stops include the Communal Kitchen Museum, the High Amana General Store, the Communal Church Museum, various businesses and attractions and travels throughout the seven villages.
The tour runs Monday– Saturday, leaving the Visitor\'s Center at 10 a.m. Seating is limited, please call (319) 622-7622 to reserve your seat. Cost: $18 for adults, $13 for children 10 and under.

Village Stroll: Walking Tour of the village of Amana
