Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Amana Colonies!

Included in this section of our website is all the information you need for planning a group excursion to the Amana Colonies—whether it's a motorcoach tour, family reunion, meeting or convention.

The seven old world villages that make up this National Historic Landmark are nestled on 26,000 acres in the scenic Iowa River Valley, just five miles north of Interstate 80 and minutes from Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. We're out of the ordinary, but not out of the way.

The Amana Colonies have been a favorite with groups since the invention of the automobile. Just take a look at the information provided on our website and you'll know why: working artisans; specialty shops; museums; bakeries, meat shops and chocolate shops; heirloom furniture and clock shops; Iowa's only working woolen mill; nature trails and hiking and biking trails; live professional theatre; legendary restaurants; an eighteen-hole championship golf course; nine wineries and Iowa's oldest microbrewery. With our unique German heritage, old world atmosphere, and all there is to see and do, the only complaint you'll get from your clients is "There just wasn't enough time to see everything!"

Thinking about bringing your retreat or convention to the Colonies? Well, let's just say there's a good reason meetings here are very well-attended. Not only is the pastoral setting a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle—our facilities are top-notch. The largest property features 6,950 square feet of meeting space and can accommodate groups of up to 400 people. Other facilities, although a bit smaller, offer the same, quality accommodations and award-winning hospitality. The Amana Colonies RV Park and Event Center— sixty secure acres with water and electrical hookups —has hosted major outdoor expositions and large RV rallies. The Amana Colonies is the ideal getaway...and the ideal place to get down to business.

Danke Schön to our loyal friends. We appreciate your business and the opportunity to host so many of you all these years. To those of you we haven't yet had the opportunity to meet: we look forward to hosting you in our unique corner of the world someday soon!

Sincerely,
